From the local phone book we rang and left messages with six builders.  We had an appointment with MDC within hours.  We had an outline of a floor plan and a vague desire to be “modern” rather than brick veneer and pitched tiled roof again.

Ralph was enthusiastic, creative, practical and knowledgeable.  Our plan developed and he was as excited as we were.  We lived two hours away but we trusted him.  He did everything.  Started and finished on time.  Organisation and tradesmen were first class.

Best of all, he was flexible.  As each stage was completed we had on-site evaluations of the next.  One example:  With the slab laid, the frame is marked out on the floor.  We thought the plan was perfect but Ralph knew that the physical reality is different.  We reviewed every wall, every door, every window, everything.

No problem, No charge!
It was the same at every stage, with Ralph and with his excellent foreman and usually with the relevant tradesman.  It wasn’t done until we were all satisfied.

We are thrilled with the result and Ralph’s interest and commitment remain, eight months after completion.

We never heard from the other five builders.
